In Junior and Senior Infant Maths, there is a very important learning objective which comes under ‘Analysis of Number’. The aim is that the child will understand that a number of objects in a set stays the same no matter what way the objects are arranged.
It is something we can take for granted as adults, but a very important foundation for the young learner when it comes to maths. In Junior Infants, the focus will be on achieving this object with the numbers 1-5. In Senior Infants the focus is up to 10.
