A recent study into the effect of handwriting on learning:
Cursive handwriting is multi-sensory, it activates many parts of the brain which results in creating quality memories.
Did you ever write a shopping list out with pen and paper and then forget to bring it to the shop? Well, you have a better chance of remembering the items on that list than if you typed it into your phone or just tried to memorise it.
Even though we are moving towards using digital technology in education a lot more, handwriting is a hugely important skill that needs to be continued.
